Need a family doctor? See how to find one in Scarborough

Three ways to take part, from five minutes to a committee seat.

1. Be counted — the primary care census

With Empower Health, the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto runs a family medicine and primary care census. It takes five to ten minutes and lets SOHT know who the family doctors and nurse practitioners in Scarborough are, so funding flows to neighbourhoods according to need. Complete the census.

2. Join the general membership

Any family physician or nurse practitioner with patients in Scarborough can join the SPCN general membership. Members receive the PCN newsletter, meeting invitations (including the PCN Mix and Mingle), and early notice of funding and digital-tool opportunities. Read the membership terms of reference, then email ScarboroughOHT@shn.ca with your name, practice and CPSO or CNO number.

3. Stand for the Governance Committee

Seats on the SPCN Governance Committee are recruited openly, most recently in August 2026 for a nurse practitioner, a specialty-focus family physician and a walk-in family physician. Recruitments are announced in PCN news.

Something in the system is getting in the way of your patients?

Tell the PCN clinical co-leads through the feedback form; choose “SOHT’s work” as the topic.
